My strong characteristics entering community

My strong characteristics are tolerance and perseverance to enter to the community and would help our team next week. Firstly, my tolerance would help my team when we work in the community. It is very important to be tolerant because we cannot get everything at the short time for example, when I was in the refugee camp, some organization came to our camp to do a project. At that time, I and my leader didn’t trust them immediately. Then, they came to talk to us many time about they really would like to help us. So, we allow them to do their project in our camp. In fact, I can reflect what they had done in our camp and learn from that experience. Another one, perseverance is very important to work with many people. Particularly, we have to go to the community who has very different belief, behavior and opinion. At the first time, we will be very strange people for them and they also the same with us. Constantly, we must go and talk again to get trust each other with never give up our work. So, perseverance and tolerance characteristics would help our team to go and work in the community.

Needed characteristics to work in Muslim community

My needed characteristics are knowledge, skills, courage, good pose, unselfishness, trustworthiness, loyalty, faithfulness, activeness, enthusiasm, sympathy, initiatives, dignity, honesty, good decision-making, insight, justice, fairness, equity and a sense of humors those which I must improve more stronger myself by experience from Muslim community. First of all, I will try to use those all characteristics when we work in the community. Some of them are I had but need to improve them because I had lack of experience to work several communities, I work only in my community for a long time. Secondly, it is very important to go to a new community to get experience from different people. I believe that experience will help us to improve those characteristics by using them because I can imagine, Muslim community are very strong in their religion and they will react very different action to us such as rude relationship or they will think our work is not concern with them. In fact, I must work hard in the community and use the tools of our project management that we have learned in the class and use all characteristics. Finally, experience will improve stronger those of my characteristics.

Had conversation with partner resolution one of the problems in our school based on 8 steps

I and Kolo had a conversation to solve one of the problems in our school. First of all, we talked in our school, some students had a problem about eating meal for lunch and dinner. Mainly, students were not enough curry for lunch and dinner. In fact, 3 students were eating earlier than lunch time and dinner. Normally, our meals time are 12 am for lunch and 6.30 pm for dinner. However, some students are late for the time of eating. So, they have the problem with shouting each other. On the other hand, the three students do not have a pocket money to eat snacks. So they are hungry earlier. The late students are usually busy with taking shower or come from using computer in the computer lap which is one kilometer from our school. Secondly, we discussed what the real thing is, and we find out that the students who ate earlier are really hungry because they don’t have a person who support for their snack and the students who were late for eating usually prioritize their hygiene and worried with home work in their computer room. So, they really have a problem for the curry. Thirdly, we discussed what question we should ask in both side such as why do you eat earlier than the time? Why are you late for meal time? Fourthly, we discussed that we brought that problem in student council meeting which is a meeting we usually do on every Friday and we found the possible solution that every one has to be on time at 12 o’clock for lunch and 6.30 pm for diner. Fifthly, we thought about both sides that could not affect badly. For example, if every student or teachers scold them, they would feel miserable. So, we found a possible solution of to be on time for meal. Sixthly, we talked about we sat in the meeting and talked about finding possible solution. As the result of the meeting, we could get agreement of both side and all students. Seventhly, nowadays all, students are on time for eating. Finally, before some student had shouted each other about eating meal but after we found possible solution of to be on time for meal. Then, we don’t have the problem for meal. For the next solving problem, we will found more detail information for solution. I leant this experience about we can talk softly to get agreement from the both side. We will keep going on and improve it such as if we don’t have problem for eating, we can eat meal very happy. In concluded, I and my partner had a discussion for a problem solving in our school.

Justify Full


Reflection on class (Monday, Aug 31 to Friday, Sept 1, 2009)

Project management class in this week was covered in the deep determining for me on goal, objective and activity of the project. Initially, I had to struggle how to set the goal statement concisely to mention in our proposal in our activity that teacher provided us but I got a suitable idea to write on our new print paper. However, I need to improve more concise showing on the statement. In addition, I was evaluated myself that I found was, I seemed understand after lecture or explanation of our teacher yet I often had to ask myself how and what we (our group) have to do in the activity. In fact, I needed to ask teacher again to be known how and what on our activity. So, I notice myself Ask and Do immediately is clearer that I said myself “Aha that is” or “yes” after teacher’s explanation. In another point, I remind myself that I also could use directly by seting goal, objective and activity, and monitoring & evaluation our life. For example, when I and my friends are going to take shower, we usually ask each other “what is your goal to take a shower” and so on. And the last important thing is, I have to evaluate or assess my understanding on 15th of September for our first semester exam, to reach our goal that teacher has already announced. Finally, I was more thinking about my project management to use my real project that base on goal, objective and activity in this class.

1. What did you think of the process of developing an implementation plan?

I think, it is good and useful for me. Before I have written a couple of my proposal for my community but I was still not sure differences between of goal and objective and how to design activity. So it provided me a clear lesson and I can get feed back from our class mate that I miss some part of my need in “activity implementation plan” (E.g – “Giving training” I forgot to mention what age of people will be in the training, 15 to 25?) even I thought carefully while I am doing with our partners.


2. Did this activity make you think of additional activities you need to add your plan?

In addition, if I add more branch of table line to put my specifically information below provided table outline or separate sheet.


3. Did this activity give you a clear picture of how your project would progress from start to finish?

Honestly, it gave me a clear understanding from start to finish but I still have to practice writing goal statement to include all information based on problem statement, specially building sentence.


4. What happens to the implementation plan once it is developed?

We need to think and do activity for budgets to include in our proposal.

Vice versa checking group activity for statement of problem and goal, and activity are helpful for me to understand in writing proposal. Firstly, teacher’s teaching activity is useful for me and I reflect my previous proposal those were mixing meaning together even my titles were mentioned “goal” and “objective”. So, I am clear to see my mistake on those. And also it is useful for me to use this skill when I write next proposal. Secondly, I am enthusiast to learn that you have announced about you have another style to teach us for this activity. I also like and enjoy your current activity and help me a lot to understand in specifically, deeply thinking for our work. In concluded, this is very supportive for me to advance proposal writing skill with a good comprehension.

Reflection on Tuesday's class (August 25, 2009)


I had learned two activities that vice versa analyzed our monthly project proposal by three divided groups which provides me for benefit of evaluated on our strength & weakness, enjoying, useful activity and how to do differently in the future. Firstly, I got benefit in the first activity by observing my colleague's presentation of measuring with five processes mind map to their proposal writing. In addition, I was satisfied in second activity: feedback from our classmate on our weakness in proposal which was not clear on writing session of "Aim" and "participation". So we could see our weakness on our writing and also they pointed our strengths on the session of brief description on the fist page and blue print at the end of the page in our proposal. Therefore it gave me a good benefit to our writing. Secondly, I was enjoying to move around by listening and learning from our classmates and we asked our teacher when we had no idea to deal on our activities. Fourthly, it was useful for me when I write the next proposal by using feedback of these activities. In fact, I will be clear for writing our Aim and participation's session. Fifthly, I will act in activities to be more active in the future and would like to do it again after writing our project proposal. In concluded, these two activities are very valuable for me to learn effectively.
