Had conversation with partner resolution one of the problems in our school based on 8 steps

I and Kolo had a conversation to solve one of the problems in our school. First of all, we talked in our school, some students had a problem about eating meal for lunch and dinner. Mainly, students were not enough curry for lunch and dinner. In fact, 3 students were eating earlier than lunch time and dinner. Normally, our meals time are 12 am for lunch and 6.30 pm for dinner. However, some students are late for the time of eating. So, they have the problem with shouting each other. On the other hand, the three students do not have a pocket money to eat snacks. So they are hungry earlier. The late students are usually busy with taking shower or come from using computer in the computer lap which is one kilometer from our school. Secondly, we discussed what the real thing is, and we find out that the students who ate earlier are really hungry because they don’t have a person who support for their snack and the students who were late for eating usually prioritize their hygiene and worried with home work in their computer room. So, they really have a problem for the curry. Thirdly, we discussed what question we should ask in both side such as why do you eat earlier than the time? Why are you late for meal time? Fourthly, we discussed that we brought that problem in student council meeting which is a meeting we usually do on every Friday and we found the possible solution that every one has to be on time at 12 o’clock for lunch and 6.30 pm for diner. Fifthly, we thought about both sides that could not affect badly. For example, if every student or teachers scold them, they would feel miserable. So, we found a possible solution of to be on time for meal. Sixthly, we talked about we sat in the meeting and talked about finding possible solution. As the result of the meeting, we could get agreement of both side and all students. Seventhly, nowadays all, students are on time for eating. Finally, before some student had shouted each other about eating meal but after we found possible solution of to be on time for meal. Then, we don’t have the problem for meal. For the next solving problem, we will found more detail information for solution. I leant this experience about we can talk softly to get agreement from the both side. We will keep going on and improve it such as if we don’t have problem for eating, we can eat meal very happy. In concluded, I and my partner had a discussion for a problem solving in our school.

Justify Full


Reflection on class (Monday, Aug 31 to Friday, Sept 1, 2009)

Project management class in this week was covered in the deep determining for me on goal, objective and activity of the project. Initially, I had to struggle how to set the goal statement concisely to mention in our proposal in our activity that teacher provided us but I got a suitable idea to write on our new print paper. However, I need to improve more concise showing on the statement. In addition, I was evaluated myself that I found was, I seemed understand after lecture or explanation of our teacher yet I often had to ask myself how and what we (our group) have to do in the activity. In fact, I needed to ask teacher again to be known how and what on our activity. So, I notice myself Ask and Do immediately is clearer that I said myself “Aha that is” or “yes” after teacher’s explanation. In another point, I remind myself that I also could use directly by seting goal, objective and activity, and monitoring & evaluation our life. For example, when I and my friends are going to take shower, we usually ask each other “what is your goal to take a shower” and so on. And the last important thing is, I have to evaluate or assess my understanding on 15th of September for our first semester exam, to reach our goal that teacher has already announced. Finally, I was more thinking about my project management to use my real project that base on goal, objective and activity in this class.

1. What did you think of the process of developing an implementation plan?

I think, it is good and useful for me. Before I have written a couple of my proposal for my community but I was still not sure differences between of goal and objective and how to design activity. So it provided me a clear lesson and I can get feed back from our class mate that I miss some part of my need in “activity implementation plan” (E.g – “Giving training” I forgot to mention what age of people will be in the training, 15 to 25?) even I thought carefully while I am doing with our partners.


2. Did this activity make you think of additional activities you need to add your plan?

In addition, if I add more branch of table line to put my specifically information below provided table outline or separate sheet.


3. Did this activity give you a clear picture of how your project would progress from start to finish?

Honestly, it gave me a clear understanding from start to finish but I still have to practice writing goal statement to include all information based on problem statement, specially building sentence.


4. What happens to the implementation plan once it is developed?

We need to think and do activity for budgets to include in our proposal.

Firstly, teacher’s teaching activity is useful for me and I reflect my previous proposal those were mixing meaning together even my titles were mentioned “goal” and “objective”. So, I am clear to see my mistake on those. And also it is useful for me to use this skill when I write next proposal. Secondly, I am enthusiast to learn that you have announced about you have another style to teach us for this activity. I also like and enjoy your current activity and help me a lot to understand in specifically, deeply thinking for our work. In concluded, this is very supportive for me to advance proposal writing skill with a good comprehension.

Reflection on Tuesday's class (August 25, 2009)


I had learned two activities that vice versa analyzed our monthly project proposal by three divided groups which provides me for benefit of evaluated on our strength & weakness, enjoying, useful activity and how to do differently in the future. Firstly, I got benefit in the first activity by observing my colleague's presentation of measuring with five processes mind map to their proposal writing. In addition, I was satisfied in second activity: feedback from our classmate on our weakness in proposal which was not clear on writing session of "Aim" and "participation". So we could see our weakness on our writing and also they pointed our strengths on the session of brief description on the fist page and blue print at the end of the page in our proposal. Therefore it gave me a good benefit to our writing. Secondly, I was enjoying to move around by listening and learning from our classmates and we asked our teacher when we had no idea to deal on our activities. Fourthly, it was useful for me when I write the next proposal by using feedback of these activities. In fact, I will be clear for writing our Aim and participation's session. Fifthly, I will act in activities to be more active in the future and would like to do it again after writing our project proposal. In concluded, these two activities are very valuable for me to learn effectively.

Reflection on focus group as a facilitator in a refugee camp
Acting a facilitator in a focus group activity in the class made me to feel in a practical way. Firstly, my weakness is, I could not act in a good way because I was very frustrated with the refugee's questions that was unconcerned with what we wanted to explain even I have prepared several questions in my note book. Therefore, I have no idea to explain for our matter except questioning to our teacher. After advising of our teacher, I was able to explain them what we are coming to the camp. At that time, they are becoming silence and ask questions in the frame of my topic. So, I learned how to tell them to get information among refugee such we have to follow their question and try to persuade them to our topic. In fact of this activity was provided in a good teaching from our teacher, I liked and enjoyed it very much but we have to do it in a deep thinking like a real life. In order, for the next activity, I have an idea to do in different way that firstly approaching to a leader of the camp or a respectful person in their community to organize them before we start our research. Then we can continue our explanation of how we want to help their needs. In reality, I have to use this tool/activity for my community or stake holders in everywhere I involve with. In concluding, my reflection on that activity has assessed me how to do in a real life perfectly.

Reflection for today would be evaluated my weakness, strength and learned for future. To clarify, I worked well in my group work with my partners for making Refection questions. Also, I have learned how to write reflection, it is good to remind or remember, to test comprehension, self improvement, looking for weakness and strength of my learning. These are useful by doing regularly for the future in our organization and even our basic needs of our life. But I have to change my weakness that I had a little frustrated in my learning. Actually, I was not clear what teacher gave us to do in activity, I woke up my mind when we really would do, I need to ask teacher again. Due to the fact of that I need to take more attention carefully while teacher was giving lecture. In brief, my weakness, strength and learning were evaluated by reflection for using in the future.

Reflection of the week lessons

In this week lessons in project management class have been enthusiastic to me by effecting and struggling. Firstly, needs assessment is useful by using in our project such as identifying the problem, cause of problem, Extend or size of problem and identifying the affected population. In addition, Data collection and data analysis are two types of data. Moreover, quantitative and qualitative are needed to use in real life when I will be a manager in the future. Questionnaires are, in kind of multiply choice, scale, rank and opened-ended question that practically, face to face asking or paper questioning to people those who are affected by the project. Thoughtfully, it must be anonymous for stake holders but no more 15 minutes timing with native language. Besides, questionnaire needs enough time of preparation such as write down questions based on the result of the actual condition to be optimal condition, those are very useful for us before we start our project. Again, questionnaires asking, is getting quantitative data from the question types of multi choice, rank and scale that easy to analyze and give specific data, open-ended is giving qualitative data which is a big picture of the situation. Surely, those are valuable in making survey for our project. Further, interviewing is using in unavoidable things for us to get other’s opinion, experience, feelings, events knowledge and real or actual information. In the same way researcher, journalists/reporter, writer, supervisors/managers, NGO staff, police, lawyers, political leader are doing interviewing very often that based on the reasons of opinion, political, history and event. Secondly, It was Interesting on the comparison of photo friends and Project management which is need to add some tools in either side by discussion in four groups switching three people each time to get innovative ideas. Mostly we could add to versa side of them such as camera from photo friend to proposal writing in project management. Also questionnaires should be in photo friend that it needs to interview with open-ended questions and voice recorder is useful in project management too when we are doing interview for our project. Stories from photo friend are also helpful when we propose in our proposal writing to prove why we need to solve the problem. Indeed, those are interesting to learn and think. Thirdly it was enjoying presenting our presentation of gap analysis. We did gate project while our classmates were presenting projects of library, volley ball boy dorm and girl dorm. I am also enjoyable obstacles of being facilitator when researching in the dim communities such refugee camps which we concern in Focus group. Instantly, we have to follow up coming week with our home work (10) questions. Fourthly, It was challenging in thinking to build questions for questionnaire and question for we are being as facilitator in refugee communities. Finally, by thinking deeply for our needs assessments, I am becoming habit whatever I plan to do or imagine. So I am sure that it is beneficial for me surely. In concluding, I was inquiring learning with some challenging but they were enjoying lessons.

Reflection of management in the week (August 4th to 7th, 2009)

Reflection of management in this week is concerning on my learning and applying to my real life. It was interesting to study different meaning of the “want and need”: want is from wish and need is real necessity in our life. I was curious to learn actual & optimal which means thinking the best possible situation by the word of “optimal” and “actual” means seeing or hearing the real situations. We all student wore white, black and red hats for observing our compound with actual & optimal tool with group. The gap between them will be thought and discussed on this weekend. The tool of Questionnaires provoked me to study in four kinds of multiple, rank, scale and open-end question. I was also interested in teacher Salai’s rope games that showing us how is different working in group. The useful tool “project cycle” guides us to get our goal without obstacles. Vocabulary quiz stimulated me to study the words that similar meaning but different use. Writing proposal is useful for me that we need to use every starting project, especially we practice the real life for our school facilities like toilets and library. I was challenging to study similar meaning with different use on three vocabularies of assessment, evaluation and reflection. I am a little challenging to give opinions for proposal writing in August because it is the first time of learning in the school. But I have idea to think the real need of our school when we choose to write proposal. It’s good to get experience writing proposal to work with a group as usually it is difficult to work with a team. In concluding, the tool of reflection makes me able to apply after acquiring and understanding in this week.
